Walking down to the riverbank just by the bridge, you find the chairs and sunshades out,cafes open and people swimming, or sunbathing on the other bank,or there is a central island with walkway that can be used.

You have got all the “must have “ amenities to hand and you are only a short walk from the centre of the town,with its squares and cafes and restaurants for a bite to eat. This is one place well worth the drive.
